Mga Sirs/Madam,
I want to visit Sagada via Banaue by car... just want to know the road conditions kung kaya ba ng kotse. Saan na rin magandang mag stay? When is the best time to travel?
Thanks in advance.

The roads up there are actually in good condition. Except for a few twisty sections that are widened. We were there just this year (Holyweek break). Its a much better route than the one that passes thru Baguio. We took NLEX, SCTEX, TPLEX, then exited in Pura, Nueva Ecija. Then Munoz, San Jose, then straight into Nueva Vizcaya.
We just drove a 1300 AT Vios. Dalawa lang kami ng wife ko. We slept at a friends house in Bayombong. The 24/7 Inn and Resort in Bayombong is a good stop over IMHO.

Or in Banaue.

Sorry, I cannot chime in on a Sagada hotel. Hanggang doon lang kami sa Blessed Virgin statue on top of Mt. Polis.

Kayang kaya ng kotse. IMHO.
Happy trip.

I still have to go back there. It was my first time (too) exploring that part of Luzon. Did a lot of google map studying. After you leave Nueva Ecija, the roads are all paakyat na to the mountains, (the Vizcaya part).
Wala sinabi ang Kennon sa kalsada dito, especially if you're climbing to Banaue na. Kennon is like an hour of climbing up, (more or less) ..... On this route, its around 2-3 hours, Banaue palang yan from Bayombong. From Banaue to Sagada is around 1 to 2 hours pa ulit of twisty road. Make sure your car is in tiptop shape.
Max speed for me in some straight sections is 60, that's about it. This is the route where the bus of celebrity Tado ......... fell.
One more thing, leave early so that you will have plenty of daylight for the drive. Since it is mountainous country, fog and mist are always present (kahit tanghaling tapat) medyo delikado na ang road pag madilim na.
Its customary (as the locals would say) to stop at statue of Our Blessed Virgin for a quick prayer and at the coffee shops atop Mount Polis, for a cuppa. Buy some veggies at the roadside stalls, or carved wooden statues.
Peace and order is good. The locals are gentle, soft spoken people. There's a scout ranger detachment located in Mount Polis.Last edited by lowslowbenz; October 27th, 2014 at 09:07 PM.

Skyg,
Banaue Hotel kami nag stay last time. Hindi namin napuntahan ang Sagada at that time kasi dumiretso pa kasi ng Vigan Laoag Pagudpud. Palagay ko anyday is a good time a long as hindi maulan.
Kung may members na nakaka alam ng road condition this time via Tadian, please advice and thanks in advance.
Enjoy your trip.

Halsema Hi-way from Baguio to Sagada Okay ang daan except sa malapit na Sagada..
