I haven't had any firework related injuries, because even as kids living in Quezon City, we seldom went out of the house on New Year's Eve for fear of being hit by stray bullets.
Tutal, para sa amin, mas masaya makipag-kuwentuhan sa mga kapatid at magulang habang nagsasalu-lalo kaysa sa magsunog ng pera sa pamamagitan ng paputok.

just minor burns and temporary blindness due to fireworks exploding too close... i think it's quite common. we don't celebrate with fireworks anymore though. it's not good for the environment and it can be quite expensive.

No, but I had close calls when I was younger.
One time, naputukan ako ng 5-star sa kamay kasi ambilis masunog nung mitsa. Buti na lang walang naputol na daliri or dugo, pero nabingi ako. Couldn't hear a thing for about 10 minutes, and there was a constant ringing in my ears. Also, another time, pumutok yung 5-star when I was stamping on it to put it out. Suwerte na lang, kasi makapal yung goma ng tsinelas ko.
I've abstained from lighting firecrackers for over 20 years. Sayang kasi ang pera, it would be literally burning your money. May mga kapitbahay kasi kami na nagwawaldas ng mga 30k siguro for firecrackers, so what I do, pagkatapos nyang magsindi ng pyrotechnics, eh lumalabas ako ng bahay at umaasta na parang ako yung nag-sindi, hehehe. Feeling rich ba...

June 26th, 2017 12:30 AM #8Maganda ang new year sa bahay may kainan at fireworks around us. Titingala ka lng enjoy ka na. Malungkot pag wala yon. Pangit yata yun pupunta ka pa sa ibang lugar just to see fireworks. Wala sa tradisyon natin lumayo sa bahay natin pag new year dahil nandun ang medya noche.
