December 28th, 2009 09:21 PM #1Hi,
We just got an 09 Grand Starex and it is A/T.
Nasanay ako sa M/T, so newbie po ako sa A/T.
Questions:
1. Pag nagpapark po, before turning off the engine, ano po mas tama:
a. hand brake muna tapos shift to park? or
b. shift to park muna bago hand brake?
2. Pag tumatakbo na po, let's say naka 2 ako or L, pwede po ba i-shift to D habang tumatakbo? or should I make a full stop then shift to D?
Iniisip ko po kasi kapag paahon, kung pagdating sa peak kung mag-full stop pa ko or hindi.
3. Kung pwede man po mag-shift to D habang umaandar, dapat pa po ba i-release yung acceleration pads or basta shift lang kahit naka apak pa sa accelerator?
Many thanks.

December 28th, 2009 09:25 PM #21. any, but this works best, hand brake then shift to park
2. yes, no need to stop
3. no need. shift ka kahit naka baon accelerator. Syempre wag mo gagawin yun Neutral, then at 5k RPM, shift to D. Shifting from N to D = N to any gear in M/T.

1. ito kasi practice ko simula nang mag a/t ako last year. shift to park then hand brake ako. pero either would do

1. Handbrake then shift to park so as not to stress the Parking mechanism of the AT.
2. You can shift to D directly, no problem.
3. Ok lang kahit naka-apak ka sa accelerator. What the 2 or 1(L) does is limit the upshifting. Shifting to D enables the full course of upshifting back.
PS:
What AT of Grand Starex do you have? Doesn't it have the +/-? If it does have the +/-, it will still upshift if you redline the engine.

I have also a question.
kapag ito-tow ang A/T car, kailangan bang nasa Nuetral yung gear? At paano ba ang tamang pag-tow?
