COVID has revealed the answer - obviously private cars.

The past few days I've been driving, traffic is roughly as bad as when it was pre-ECQ. And that's with zero public transpo.

Nasaan na yung mga nagsasabi na kasalanan ng PUV? Kesyo wala daw disiplina, etc etc. It's clear as day that cars take up most of our roads even with an average of just 1-2 people per car.

I hope every single car owner in Metro Manila takes a hard look in the mirror and admits that WE ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

Does it mean we would all give up our cars? Of course not. But next time any of us gets stuck in traffic, suck it up because you contribute to the problem too.

Yes we need the government to provide better public transpo systems. So blame them and not bus drivers forced to live cutthroat lives on the road because of the antiquated boundary system.

It's as bad? Baka dahil walang coding?

Bakit pre-civid pag meron strike public vehicles nawawala traffic?

    Jeeps ba or buses?

Kaya mas nakaka guilty kung 1 driver lang sa loob tapos malaking kotse dala.

Makatulong kaunti kung city car, or carpool.

Maganda din ang bike lane initiative

1-2 inner bus lanes kasi unusable sa mga private motorist, kaya we experience pre-ecq traffic.
And yet ang baba naman ng utilization ng mga new bus lanes na ito.

Permanent set-up naraw yan doc, then may 1.5 m pa na bike lane sa right side.
Ang problema din sa bus lane nayan, may portion sa EDSA na kailangan mag swerve sa right yung mga bus.
Ang current traffic sa EDSA will not get any better.

When there are strikes, or when there are no classes, traffic is marginally lighter for sure, but that's just like going from 100% traffic to 90% traffic.

Try taking out all private cars and having all the jeeps and buses still ply the road, you'd get much, much less traffic.

Simple lang naman eh - a car that takes 10 sqm and only has 1-2 passengers will cause more traffic and ferry less people than a bus that takes 30 sqm but has 60 passengers (or even just 30 at half capacity).

Not even referring to EDSA. I avoid it because of the birth pains of the bus lanes. But C5, White Plains, Marcos Highway - all these roads remain congested even without public vehicles.

And to think many offices are still WFH and most entertainment destinations (i.e. malls) aren't operating at full capacity.

ang baba pa ng utilization dahil wala pang regular buses na namamasada.

inton was interviewed the other night over the radio.
    sabi niya,
"that plan to move the bus lanes to the innermost lane, was already suggested in the past. it was dis-approved, back then. they are now pursuing it, under the guise of covid."
    sour grapes?
personally, i do not see the reason how moving it to the innermost lane, will possibly help traffic or our war against covid.

During the MECQ there was a famous local speed shop who posted on their FB page that the "jeepneys are the cause of the traffic". I think they took it down already hehe.
