October 25th, 2019 03:09 PM #8If I recall correctly, there are about 33,000 Filipinos to ONE doctor here sa Pilipinas... yet every patient is equally important. Isipin mo, every patient is demanding so much attention with every consult, follow up or being attended to, and we do our best to give 101% every time to EVERYONE, but there's only so much of you to go around. I promise you, most average people, hindi kakayanin yan. Baka mabaliw kayo.
Andami sa amin, hindi na alam papaano hahatiin sarili namin para sa patients, family (children & spouse... na malamang doc din) and our own selves (yes, you need time for yourself din). What most people see lang is the (alleged) prestige and income (?) in the profession, but what they don't see is how hard we worked to become doctors, and how hard we actually work.
Iba yung hirap & pagod ng hard physical labor lang compared to a profession where you have to keep your wits & learning on hand at all times, remain reasonably calm under stress (mataas EQ), sometimes even under the effects of sleep deprivation and fatigue kasi BUHAY ng tao ang katapat. And as stated, affected pa ang quality of time/life with your family din.

Not Just me, but also Doc d and any other doctor in this forum would attest... THERE ARE SO MANY DOCTORS THAT JUST SUCCUMB TO BURNOUT. I wonder what would happen to the world if all of us just just quit and walked away?
Ah, limited lang talaga ang space here sa Forum. There's so much I can say and go on for that I wish I could say but not here. Maybe some other time.

And no, hindi po kami papatol if someone would want to troll this post or thread. As I've said earlier, I've got better things to do (pwede naman mag break like right now di ba?)
