Its not really rare, its that buyers prefer black, silver, white, etc... Even the agent said the greyish brown is easier to come by than, say a silver one.

I dont own one yet. But I'd like to have one in Grayish Brown or silver.

Some agents in other dealers also told me about the rarity of the Grayish Brown and the dark gray mica metallic. Most buyes prefer #1 Silver, #2 Black, #3 White - typical SUV colors.

Believe it or not, on certain days I see only one kind of color of Fortuner per day. It has become more than a coincidence, really.

For example, Wednesday is dark color day, which means for that day I saw nothing but black or dark Gray Fortuners in the streets. In another day, I'd call it light color day since for that day I saw nothing but Silver, White, or Grayish Brown Fortuners in the streets. On certain days, its only one color like Grayish Brown, or other color for another day. You get my drift. The reason behind this strange phenomenon, I dont have a clue. :wonder:

just got mine this wednesday - Feb.15, 2006

hi peeps! it's been almost a month since i last logged in. anyway, my 2.7 white vvti reached 6100 kms already (got it last nov 27). for oil change na ulit. i'll bring it to toyota bicutan probably monday. here are some data re my unit:

mid: 8.1 km/liter (70/30, hway/city)
computed: 7.6 km/liter
top speed: 165 km/hr (takot na ako due to wind resistance)
gas used: petron extra unleaded

so far, i'm happy with my ride. acceleration wise, it can cope up even with cars. the engine also is very quiet. reaching 100 km/hr is a breeze. i've also learned on how to drive economically with an automatic transmission. i now slowly depress the gas pedal. unlike before when i got my unit, i always wanted to test the vehicle's 160 hp so i always press hard on the gas pedal, the result, 7.0 km/liter. but the thing is i had my fun (driving recklessly, he he).

to those who want to improve the "bumpy" ride, have your tires inflated with nitrogen, around 29 to 30 psi should do the trick.
