Good day everyone, i just inherited a Toyota Corolla XE 2E engine with a defective speedometer, can somebody help me how to restore my speedometer?

Usually, napuputol yun speedo cable. What I did w/ my car (1998 Sentra) is Mighty Bond the 2 ends. Mahal kasi yun replacement cable.
Na fix naman, but yun speedo, nagbabounce at low speeds. After 20kph tho, ok na sya.. smooth na.
Tachometer tho, pag nasira yan. No fix. :/

Wala po akong makitang mapag-connect-kan ng speedometer cable sa transmission at wala rin po akong makitang butas sa firewall para daanan ng cable papuntang gauge.

electronic yung corolla speedo meter mo eh, hindi manual. 3 wires with diff. color yun andun sa tranny mo malapit sa tranny CV oil seals

kaya po pala wala akong makitang cable. I'll try to look for that 3 wires.

January 8th, 2013 11:42 AM #7i used to have the same problem. kung parehas yan ng sakin na corolla bigbody xl 2e, electronic speed sensor gamit nyan kaya walang speedcable na kamukha sa iba. tagal ko hinanap kasi wala akong mkitang clear description d2 sa net kung saan at ano apperance nya, pero dahil sa tyaga nakita at naayos ko din. yung sakin naputol un isang connection sa 3 wires nya, dun sa socket, pero naremedyohan ko pa(hehe) kya nkatipid sa pyesa at labor.
