I think its not true for all 4 a/t vehicles. Own a 2011 carens 4 a/t which has no shift shock at all. Even better than my crv. I don't know if it's likewise true for the Vios which I believe share the same platform.

Sir kumusta naman po ang FC ng 1.3 a/t? I am going to get the same variant this week to replace my 5 year old Avanza J.
    Salamat po sa feedback.

It does about 12km/l on long, highway drives and around 9km/liter on short distance, in and around the metropolis drives. We usually use it to ferry the kids to and from school. Suspension is on the firm/bouncy side but insulation is top notch. Power more than adequate for city driving but I believe the 1.5 would be better for longer distance driving. Shift shock gets getting used to especially if you are coming from a car with a more refined a/t. Overall im happy with the car. Provides more value for money I believe because of the flexibility of seating 7 people. Hope this helps you. Congratulations on your purchase.

Thank you for your very encouraging response. I would have preferred the 1.5 if I had the extra budget. For now the new 1.3 E A/T is close to being perfect vehicle for me.

galing din kami sa baler last saturday (May 5) using my 2010 avanza j, ok naman ang performance sa akyatan considering na full load kami...no hassle un nga lang maalog daw sa 3rd row..so am planning to have a rear stabilizer to minimize body roll...

This car really serves its purpose. Last April 2012 we have travelled from Manila to Irosin, Sorsogon during the Holy Week. We are 6 in the car and the back side was full of luggage. The trip was smooth and performance in the uphills are fine. My Avanza is a 2007 model 1.5G M/T. So far, never had a problem since.

I got my new 1.3E A/T last Friday. very impressed! Installed car alarm in casa for P5,100. They do not have fog lamp yet in Toyota Makati, so need to wait a bit more. The cabin is a big leap compared to my 2007 J. Also big improvement in driving experience. Very Happy with this car.
