February 23rd, 2014 12:26 AM #1Hi Guys,
I have a 2004 1.5G A/T Vios. It's mileage is now around 91KM. It will be ten years old by the end of the year. Should I keep and maintain it or sell it and get a Wigo? I am scared that maintenance costs would increase as the car is fairly old.

February 23rd, 2014 12:32 AM #2At 91k kms. You should be well past the major PMS right? Have u replace engine belts, suspension bushings, coolant, transmission oils etc? If u did, keep the car. Sayang bayad mo jan if u sold it agad. Save money, if it ain't broke, don't replace. Anyways, how much monthly mo pag bumili ka ng wigo? I would think repairs on ur vios won't reach 1/8th of the cost of a wigo. Vios is bigger too.

February 23rd, 2014 02:02 PM #3The vios is preety reliable and I also don't think it would cost you to repair it compared to buying another car. Don't be swayed by new car envy

It depends kung ano ang rason bakit gusto mong magpalit ng sasakyan.
For me, your maintenance cost reason won't justify a new car. The cost of maintaining a 10 year old car is way cheaper than buying a new one. The depreciation cost of a new car alone is more than enough to maintain your old car.
The 91K Km in your 10-year old car's odometer tells us that you don't drive much which means you won't be able to break your car as often as you think. Just have her regularly maintained then you are fine.

im in the same situation but for me its simple. my 04 is old and i bought it 2nd hand.
kaya kinda sulit na din for its mileage and i don't want to reach to the point that id be selling it for only 180 to 200K.
I love the wigo's space inside and for me this will suffice for my everyday needs.I will just wait for a few more months to be sure that there's no issue with this new car in the market.
it also boils down to budget, if you have the budget, then why not.Last edited by harold13; February 23rd, 2014 at 03:36 PM.
