ang nakakataka sa innova 2.8, pag naka idle engine at around 800 rpm, hindi malakas vibration,, when you press the accelerator and the rpm is exactly * 1000 rpm, sobrang lakas ng vibrations na ramdam talaga... but again once you pass the 1000 rpm all the way to the top ay smooth ulit... may sweet spot sa 1000 rpm haha... i dont know if only my unit has this... papa check ko din sa toyota sa pms.. unlike sa old school diesel engine, expect vibrations at idle but once you press the accelerator, mag smooth na kahit papano yung andar...

I just bought a second-hand Innova 2017 G from T-Sure. Excellent condition pa. Pero eto talaga na notice ko. Was getting bit distraught na due to the stronger vibration when crossing 1000 rpm. I'm very thankful that I came across this thread.

Is there anything you did to lessen the vibration?

Normal lang yan.

The Innova and Hilux GD engines are not equipped with a balancer shaft. I think only the LC/Prado, Fortuner, and Hiace (not 100% sure) uses a balancer shaft.

Pre-facelift Fortuners and Hilux walang balance shaft. Yung facelifted models na lumabas standard na. Prado and Hiace has standard balance shafts.

Toyota GD series diesel engines

All 1GD for Prado and Hiace are equipped with balance shafts driven by chain from crankshaft. Unlike KD, balancers located in a separate case under block. For the Hilux family, balancers were not used for type'15, but appeared for type'20.
