April 25th, 2010 05:52 AM #1just bought 2009 viosG M/T(2nd hand), 2400 (odometer reading), 1 week pa lang sakin ..minsan ayaw niya mag-start-start agad;(walang redondo; of course NAKA-APAK SA CLUTCH PEDAL!) even just right after shutting off the engine..Pero after trying several times ,eventually nag-start naman.. defective na kaya key(with transmitter)?
Or malfunctioning na kaya yung immobilizer system? May naka-experience na po ba nito dito?
Help pls, guys!!
TIA

April 25th, 2010 11:17 AM #5When you bought the car did you check the service records? You should do a background check first, like calling the Toyota CASA who has the car's service record or checking with the cars insurance company for 2009-2010 since they can confirm if the car was flooded. The Toyota Warranty Booklet of my 08 Vios says that Acts of God "is not covered" and will void the 3 year/100,000km warranty. It did flood pretty badly here in Paranaque (waist deep) in the wake of Ondoys wrath, but it depends if the previous owner drove the car through flood waters high enough to reach the electrical system; ECU, Starter Motor, Immobilizer/Keyless Entry Module, Airbag Sensors, ABS-Unit, Electronic Power Steering Unit, Eletronic Throttle Control and the Clutch cut-off switch, all electrical and could deteriorate over time. If the records are clean, check the under the carpet for traces dirt or water marks, since you've mention the car was clean it could've been detailed to remove the flood water odor and stains. Also look the bolts and screws in the interior if they look like they have been previously removed or showing any signs of rust. Hope you can have your vios fixed in a jiffy
I just hope it could be just a defective or loose Clutch cut-off switch since that is quickest and easiest problem to fix...

--> try adjusting ung floor mat mo..para talagang sagad ung apak mo sa clutch.. kasi minsan kala mo sagad na ung apak pero di pala dahil nahaharangan nung mat.. o kaya make sure na talagang todo (as in todo ung apak mo hanggang dulo) ngyari din kasi skin yang sinasabi.. auto ko 2010 vios.. for the first 2 mos.. hirap na hirap din ako iistart ung auto.. as in same experience tayo na kala ko nga nuon defective.. i even reported it to toyota.. pero i realized na kailangan lang talaga apakan ng husto ung clutch.. dahil kung di.. hindi tlaga mags-start yan.. nakaka-frustrate pero once makuha mo na ung tamang timpla.. panalo yan!

same experienced as mine, mas embarrassing lang na bongga ang nangyari sa akin, biglang namatayan ako ng makina(di pa ako hiyang sa vios na timplada that time), maraming nakasunod sa akin na sasakyan bago ko napaandar ang vios, floor mat lang pala ang culprit.
imagine 5days old brand new palang eto...
