October 6th, 2011 03:49 AM #21There are slums in HK too. Yung nga lang tago. Parang sa Binondo. But I don't think our fellow will stay in those areas. They already have the budget and I'm sure they can manage it. Yan ang hirap sa ating mga Pinoy eh. Mahilig sa crab mentality. Hayaan naman nating umangat sila. And I don't think that the HK government will allow their families to reside in HK if they are not capable. But imo, they only want to protect their stay in HK. Gaya din ng iba nating mga kababayan na nag-aabroad.

October 6th, 2011 04:26 AM #22CBCP to World Youth Day ‘TNTs’: Go home
CBCP to World Youth Day
About 1,500 catholics who went to the World Youth Day last August in Spain have gone TNT.
Before the religious event, the Spanish embassy in Manila asked the CBCP: "How many Filipinos will NOT return?", expecting a high rate of illegal emigrants. The CBCP priests made the pilgrims sign a Promise to Return, to no effect.
The affluent countries in the world know that the poor Pinoys will use whatever ways or means to leave the Philippines.
So will the Filipino family members even ask permission from the HK governemt if they could stay, or they will just make Tago-tago at the OFW's place?
If the Filipinos are not welcome in the other countries, they have no one to blame but themselves.
CRAB MENTALITY or REALITY?

October 6th, 2011 02:50 PM #23WYD delegates are given temporary visas only....
The pinay maid is qualified to have a permanent residence status... these are different scenarios....
If Spain has a law that says "shoot to kill" illegal immigrants then so be it....
HK law dictates that the maid qualified for permanent residency.... then that should be enacted.....
this is just plain and simple.... laws are laws whether you are poor or rich... at least in first world countries.....
It is just sad that some people think Filipinos deserve **** when even if the said individual passed the qualifications being required by that certain state.... it is far more sad that those discriminating thoughts came from our fellow "kababayans".... if you don't call that crab mentality, then what should we call that?

October 6th, 2011 05:27 PM #24According to our HK business principal, the HK government is reluctant to grant residency to Pinoy maids for a reason. They are afraid of the influx of TNTs who will take advantage of the OFW's residence to hide.
