As per my SA, mine would be released by next week if not this Friday.

Did you consider leasing? No DP required upfront and no chattel.

Leasing, I assume, would not give you the ownership of the car after the term. I plan on keeping the car for a long time naman. The terms that I have with my financing is 40% down for 5 yrs. Comparing it to what the bank offered me, I've haggled with every bank and scoured every bit of persuasion to get the lowest rate, and considering the additional expenses like chattel and insurance and other add-ons, the difference is just slightly a notch above10k plus the fact that the customization for the paint job that I want was given as a freebie by my agent, of course after an endless haggling haha

The bank will own the car while it is leased. You have the option to buy it after your agreed term, which is a certain % of the car's depreciated value. Or if ayaw mo na, just surrender it and lease another unit.

Isn't it that the Vitara's ground clearance is 185mm?

Yes but I think I've read somewhere that it would cost even more if you want to keep the car after the leasing as compared to purchasing it from the start.

Interesting though. Alala ko back in the 90s up to the early 2000s, mas 'in' pag mas mababa yung stock height ng kotse.

I guess ondoy changed everyone's perception on that hehehe

i don't go with those numbers coz they don't properly represent the anti-"sayad" qualities of a car

all i can say is that the vitara's bumper is gonna scrape in the parking lots i go to. it's definitely not as tall as the Ecosport

Its not Ondoy its climate change sir.little rain and flooding is everywhere.plus mga baradong drainage and waterways kaya majority of the buyer needs high ground clearance of cars

It’s a crossover and not a really truly legit SUV. Expected ground clearance is obviously just a little higher than a sedan. EcoSport has the highest ground clearance at 200mm before the XV came into picture at 220mm...

For baha mode, better use a PPV-based SUV instead...
