caveat for potential buyers.

the down payment is actually the easiest part of car ownership, because we are talking about money already in the pocket, waiting to be given away.
it is the monthlies, the maintenance and upkeep, and the incidental expenses of useage, that are the killer.

tapos, for first 3 years ng monthly amortization, ang nahulugan mo lang ay yung interest.. yung price ng car, sa next 2 years pa for the 5 year plan..

some years ago,
the repo bodegas were awash with confiscated cars.
they investigated the matter, and found out that the culprit was the promo campaigns that the sellers were using.
it seems, their criteria for deciding who were good buyers and who were questionable buyers (in terms of ability to pay), were filed down to favor increased buyer volume.
have they since made the changes?
or are they going thru the same cycle again?

Just sharing...

years ago, my dad always complained na walang umaasikaso sa amin when we go to a dealership wearing shorts, sando and slippers. He will rant "akala nyo ba titingin lang ako or nagpapalamig lang?"

years later, when I started working and met other people who work for local dealerships. I learned why sales agents tend to favor those "young buyers" na "bihis na bihis"

Young "bihis na bihis" buyers will probably buy the car in installment. As they do not have proper bank records, they will probably choose in-house financing with very low down payment. This arrangement will mean maximum profit for the dealership and sales agent.

Yung "buyer wearing shorts and sando" will probably save enough money to buy the car in cash and will most probably not return the car for service, pati future insurance might be purchased somewhere else later.
