August 7th, 2006 09:26 AM #2Balance yes because when the tires wear out they don't wear out evenly so you need to balance them especially the front at low speeds you wont notice but at high speeds you will feel the wiggle of the steering wheel. wheel alignment at least once a year.

August 7th, 2006 09:35 AM #3try to rotate it first, Then if you feel some vibration on your steering wheel you need to rebalance them. You need wheel alignment if you find that your tires have an even wear.

I just rotate the tires. Even here at home. Kung may vibrations saka na lang ipa-check. Btw, I have all four tires balanced. So wherever they may be positioned, they are supposed to be balanced.

tire rotation as i read from a general service manual of toyota, is done every 10,000 or 5,000 km depending on your vehicle's drive train.
kung part time 4wd or rear-wheel drive, it is done every 10,000 km, kung full time 4wd or front-wheel drive, it is done every 5,000 km... medyo complicated ito as to yung rotation pattern niya is variable din.
before, i do it every 10,000 kms, i can see that the results are good naman, that time when my mileage registered a bit over 25,000 kms, my tires still look as good as brand new pa naman.... now, i'm doing it every 5,000 kms, i believe mas magiging ok yung result
from my experience, to extend your tire's life span, tire rotation should be always be accompanied with the correct tire pressure.
