Question lang... How do you know if shocks are busted?
Here's the thing. I don't feel na matagtag naman yung ride, and wala naman akong naririnig na unusual na creaks, kalampag or any weird sounds. One thing I did notice a while ago though was parang di masyado grippy yung front tires ko, mas madaling mag skid ang gulong when hard braking. Although I thought this was because nagpalit ako ng front tires, and baka hindi lang sya ganun kakapit. Ngayong napansin kong iba yung tindig ng oto ko, baka related 'to dun.
I did the push-down test, well, merong 1 very slight bounce pag bitaw, although it's been like that since I got the car. Di ko pa nasilip though kung merong leaks.
I ask because parang naging dropped yung oto e. Usually stock na bigbody GLi, mga 5 finger gap. Sa'kin before is a 4 finger gap and ganun na sya since I got the car a little over a year ago, and never got it checked why mababa sya. I just checked a few minutes ago, and it's just barely a 3 finger gap.
Actually ang ganda nga ng dropkaya lang baka naman bigay na bigay na yung shocks ko.
Ano kaya 'to? Any better test I can do to check? Anything else I should look out for?
Thanks in advance sa mga sasagot.

try to push the front part of the car, kung masyado na sya ma-bouncy, possible na busted na shocks mo
hindi ko lang sure kung may direct relationship yung busted shocks sa ungrippy tire.. had a busted shocks before pero hindi ko na-experience problem with my tire

That's the test I tried. Di naman sobrang bouncy. Pag release ko, up down up tapos settle na. Ganun sya since I got the car last february. Actually tyempuhan pa yun, minsan pag bitaw settle agad e.
I checked kanina kung may tagas, and to the best of my knowledge wala naman. I'm really quite confused right now about what's wrong with the car.

afaik, shocks doesn't affect a car's ride height. it's only a dampener. what affects the car's height is its springs... baka nga ma putol...

check mo din shock mounts. parang naging mas lowered din dati yung front suspension ko, akala ko din problem sa shocks; yung mounts pala yung kelangan ng replacement.

Thanks sa mga replies. Hindi sya putol as in buo sya, but whether pinaputulan yun ng first owner or not, I'm not sure. Although pagkakuha ko pa lang talaga sa oto ko last year, lower na sya than other bigbody corollas.
May nagsabi sa'kin na baka nag sag na yung springs, so palit na. Pwede din siguro sa shock mount...
Thanks sa mga replies, keep em coming!
