ReChroming/Hard Chroming: how much is the fair price?

I have a problem with my power steering (oil leak), and they found out na may mga scratches ang rack ko and suggest na kelangan daw ng rechroming. The mechanic charged me for a whooping P7.5k (just for re-chroming) for doing that, excluding labor & rack/pinion seal kit. Wala na ako magawa, nabaklas na tsikot ko eh, kinagat ko na rin. Fair lang ba yung price mga ka tsikoters? Actually, hindi ko alam kung magkano talaga, pero parang nalula naman ako for P7.5k.

mukhang nataga ka nung mekaniko mo. sometimes it is better to go to specialist shop para complete package.

alam ko eh machining/honing lang yan kung may tama lalo na kung mababaw lang yung scratch.. mine was repaired last year in banawe for 3k or 3.5K yata, all in (except PS fluid) and that includes machining/honing.

up until now OK pa.

tsk tsk! sabi na eh, (nataga ako!) grabe P7.5k parang gusto ko ng bumili ng surplus na rack eh. thanx sir its a big help, at least next time hindi na ako babalik sa autoshop na yun kung wala namang backjob!

PS: sir saang PS specialists sa banawe yan?

Not exactly in Banawe. The shop is located in B.M. ave. ito yung street before Banawe if you are in e. rod bound to welcome rotonda. from corner of E.rod and BM ave. the shop is around 40~50 meters located on the right side. hindi ka lalagpas ng susunod na corner.

Sorry , hindi ko na matandaan yung name ng shop.

yung nga lang, they work on the street fronting their shop.

* sir uls: oo nga grabe! nahold-up ako, kung hindi lang ako nagmamadaling ipagawa this week yung kotse ko (dahil scheduled for registration this week), eh hinintay ko muna sana mga replies nyo huhu!

sir, saan shop kayo ng papa-hard chroming? para may reference na rin ako next time na masira ulit yung PS ko. thanks.

PS (Mods): pwede ko ba i-reveal itong shop na ito para ma-warning'an na rin yung ibang ka-tsikoters?
