March 27th, 2009 11:20 PM #1I just had an accident this afternoon.. lost my brakes while i was driving downhill at the flyover of edsa ortigas. I hit another car. It was really odd because my brakes are newly installed and adjusted last saturday. I don't know if there was something wrong with the way it was installed or adjusted. Is it possible for the brakes to be working fine for 6 days and all of sudden lose it??
need your advise asap.. I need to file a complaint if need be.

March 27th, 2009 11:30 PM #3Honda city 98. Well, im not really sure if it was the brake pads.. pero nung pinatingin ko agad from a shop.. sabi nila d daw pantay ung rear brakes ko kya lumusot. ung isa super higpit.. ung isa maluwag. What do you think? could that be really the cause? some say it could be a leak.. check ko pa kung un nga.

Last edited by afrasay; April 4th, 2009 at 09:19 PM.

First it's spelled brake not break. What do you mean you lost your brake? Did the pedal just go to the floor or it just wasn't biting? If your brakes weren't bled correctly then you would have noticed this early on when you press on the pedals it will be soft. What the shop said doesn't make sense and you'd have to find out which brake did not function correctly. If the rear was the problem you should have still had enough braking capacity to stop because 80% of the work is done by the front brakes and only 20% for the rear brakes.

Remember once one or more brakes lock spells danger. especially kung wala kang ABS. Also having ABS doesnt guaranty stopping power, its job is to balance all wheels rpm at braking and correct them before it locks.
