To all owners, do you also have the same problem as the 93-97 model? Replies appreciated. Thanks.

not an owner, pero marami na ako na encounter nagrereklamo regarding power steering ng mga toyota corollas, especially the mid-90's pataas na model, not including the current Altis models.
kahit yung mechanic-friend ko yan din encounter nya.

hmm, no offense to the person who asked, but leaks sa steering is usually caused by user negligence or the steering rack hitting something hard, or too much power steering fluid causing the hydraulic system to pressurize too much.
unless it's a frequent pump failure or something, all cars are prone to PS leakage.

Most AE101 owners kasi complain about the power steering, so I'm wondering if the AE111, which shares many suspension components with its predecessor, also has the same problem.

Our old '99 AE111 had PS problems (leaks) but we don't know if this came about due to negligence as we bought the car 2nd hand.

June 5th, 2005 12:35 PM #10repair kit should solve the problem.
it's not necessarily negligence but it could be just a matter of wear and tear. seals are just rubber which degrade over time.
it could also be caused by putting the wrong PS fluid. some racks/PS systems require specific fluids. using the wrong one can cause premature failure in the parts.
