Alas Pilipinas WVT deserves their own thread.

    Hindi na sila just PVL

    Ang galing nila so far.

Great kapitana si Jia Morado-De Guzman. Lumalabas ang experience nya from playing in Japan

    GO ALAS!

Was initially sad to see Faith being benched having been the only leftover from the previous team. Actually parang napag iwanan na siya even by Gandler, & ang daming magagaling na bata like Canino. Nevertheless, was so happy to see her play against Iran in the last set. Jia trusting her & giving her chances to boost her morale with her finally scoring a point then finally a highlight reel when she scored the last point to win the game. Touching moment after the game as she was crying tears of joy after the game, & Coach De Brito giving words of encouragement, then Laure & Coronel hugging, & congratulating her.

^ nawalan talaga ng kompyansa ata si faith after her last stint in ateneo. looking back, maybe going pro prematurely wasn't the best idea. she probably thought there would be no coaching change that would occur the following uaap season. but then again, she wouldn't have gotten that fat contract if she stayed another year, i suppose.

on the other hand , vanie thrived after finishing her collegiate eligibility at loyola heights. hindi nawalan ng kompyansa maski katakot-takot na bashing sa socmed inabot. kung sabagay she's a year or 2 older than faith so mas mature na siya.

right now, gandler is proving she's not just another pretty face in a league full of pretty faces.

Interesting, 4 ex DLSU Lady Spikers are the top 4 picks in the PVL Draft.

the newly introduced rookie draft has brought a big shift towards a hard to establish parity in the league. the previous association doormats are no longer winless early on in the current tournament and it's definitely a sight for sore eyes.

meanwhile, the 1st player of the week awardee for the current tournament :

record breaking 45 point performance from the russian

capital 1 is fast becoming my favourite team. coach roger, bless his soul, is steering the wet-behind-the -ears team new heights. their 2nd round pick, roma mae doromal, is proving to be the steal of the draft.

it's akari vs creamline in the finals!

akari passed through the eye of the needle but not w/o controversy. pldt's teary exit is reportedly under protest.

creamline proceeded to the next level via another teeth gnashing 5 setter "reverse sweep"
