I'm not a golf fan. But just looking at Tiger Woods' body language for the past 2 years and you know he's not the same person or athlete.
Apart from losing his confidence on his swing or his stroke, I think he's lost a lot of self-respect after the scandal with his women. Then there is also that nagging knee or leg injury --- but they did say that golf is not that dependent on athleticism rather than your mental toughness. You can see it from how he didn't lift a finger to try and save his marriage, from how he fired his long-time caddy and how he treated each major golf tournament he entered. Sheesh. Almost every late night talk show comedy host from Leno, Conan and Letterman used Woods' personal troubles as material for their audiences to laugh at.
So, in sum: CONFIDENCE --- SHOT, KNEE --- SHOT, WORLD RANKINGS --- SHOT.
Maybe, just maybe. Woods should take a longer sabbatical from golf and see what he is to the sport. He's hurting his legacy more by just sticking around.

Police release cause of Tiger Woods's wreck: excessive speed | Yahoo! Sports
In a news conference Wednesday, law enforcement said that data recordings from the car show that Woods did not brake prior to the accident but did press on the accelerator at a "99 percent" rate. Lomita Captain James Powers said investigators believe Woods accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake. The final estimated speed when Woods' vehicle struck a tree was 75 mph.
