but there's more to long life than just food.
    personally, i like animal meat.
    heh heh.

    so the critic was asked,
"why look at the food alone?"
    "because it's the most visible."

i am sorry to hear that.

    other factors come to mind,
    genetics.
    culture and environment.
healthcare delivery system, to wit, preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic.

sometimes, the above are even more important than the food factor.
but food remains a favorite topic, as it is visible on everyone's table.

to quote our old teacher's words (a very well-respected pillar in our medical world), as he 'justifies' his regular steak dinner with his good friend (an equally well-respected pillar in the medical world),
"80% is in your genes; the rest is on your dinner table."

Feeling ko talaga tama theory ko na hindi na dapat masyado mag hardcore/strenuous exercise after 40. I have an FB friend na since 2010 ata would post his morning jog/run in UP and when it's raining treadmill siya. He's like the type na parang hindi makakahinga pag hindi naka exercise. I recently saw his post and he was in a walker. People assumed it was an injury from sports then he said STROKE

I SWEAR, people need to know their capacity and accept old age. You can't be exercising like you did in your 20s in your 40s esp 50s. He is probably 57 or 58 and he is CONSISTENT with exercising daily. But then again, pwede din na if he didn't exercise daily e his stroke would have been worse?

Read several stories about seemingly healthy people who exercise regularly but still had strokes ... common denominator was they did not get enough sleep ...

Exercise without proper diet and sleep can only do so much ...

    there is an old joke,

one night, a man was seen, looking around a lamp post"
    "what are you looking for?"
"i dropped a coin over there."
"so why are you looking for it here?"
    "it's brighter over here."

    morale of the story,
"we sometimes put the blame on things we see, and not on the real cause that we are not aware of."

when you are past 40, even late 30's you should always know the limit of your body.
The most common cause of death from exercise is heart Attack.
These people usually try to push their bodies way beyond what their older bodies can achieve at their age.
ika nga the mind is willing but the body cant anymore.

They also try to take supplements to enhance their exercise which could cause further stress on their body.

like many boxers and other athletes,
many times, we are not aware of our ageing-associated diminished capacities, until it is too diminished as to visibly catch our attention.

hindi matanggap ang edad at ang rason yung pinoy old adage "kalabaw lang and tumatanda"[emoji28]

since i turned singkwenta, i mellowed down my activities too,

from treadmill jogging to outdoor walking

from weightlifting to calisthenics (pull ups/push ups/no equipment lunges/squat/tabata)

    eating less carb/no sugar...

importante ay know your numbers or vitals. i have 2x a year checks, so far so good. all numbers are within parameter...
