My second Mom has covid. I am shocked kasi she was exposed to my Mom and I when got Covid in Sep 2021 and May 2023. She didn't catch it naman. Today lang she has sore throat and a bit of coughing and fever so her pulmo ordered an antigen test agad. I thought wala ng covid and that my second Mom had the immunity gene for it. I hope my Mom and I did not catch it and that her covid is mild lang.

November 21st, 2024 11:28 PM #39203there is an old saying,
"viruses that kill their hosts, are destined for extinction."
after several years, covid nowadays has evolved significantly, that some folks see them at the level of the ordinary flue.
"ordinary precautions, is all."

My second Mom is turning 80 na kasi. I feel bad because it's her birthday in a few days and she has to spend it in isolation. I had to send a message to all invited that it's cancelled.
Ang bago lang her pulmo didn't order antigen test or isolation for us that were exposed to her, as long as walang symptoms. I can go out pa rin daw as long as vaccinated naman people I will be with. I have a dental appointment tomorrow e my dentist is 80 na so I don't wanna take the risk. Sakit pa naman molar ko. My schedule is full from today til Monday. Cancelled lahat.

I just found out that my cousin's whole family and Tita got covid less than a month ago. I'm scared that we will all get it at home.

Highlights from the news article:
"In the 520-page report, the House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic concludes that the coronavirus “most likely emerged from a laboratory in Wuhan, China,” citing factors like biological characteristics of the virus and illnesses among researchers at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in fall 2019."
"The subcommittee report says that if evidence of the virus’ natural origin existed, it would have surfaced by now. "
" In the new report, the subcommittee also faulted the pandemic efforts of the World Health Organization, saying it placed the political interests of the Chinese Communist Party ahead of its mission to help people around the world and even allowed the party to control its investigation into the virus’ origins.
Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove, WHO’s Covid-19 technical lead, has criticized China’s lack of transparency over the pandemic. “The lack of data disclosure is simply inexcusable. The longer it takes to understand the origins of the pandemic, the harder it becomes to answer the question, and the more unsafe the world becomes,” she wrote in an editorial last year, and acknowledged that this failure to share information has only fueled the politicization of the virus. "
