July 19th, 2006 10:19 AM #232peeps, just trying to start a list of sorts ng mga brands/models ng cars na napaconvert na to LPG. If you happen to own one that't not already listed, paki fill in naman. thanks!
so far ang alam ko lang is
1. Toyota Corolla 1.3L XL 1997-2000 -- "lovelife" body, specifically taxis
No noticeable difference in hatak; parang normal 1.3L car.

2. Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 EL 2000 -- "pizza pie model"
last april, i saw a lancer 1.3 EL model 2000 being used by petron at their exhibit at the fort. according to the petron representative i've talked to, the LPG convertion for cars are for carb engines only. it's korean technology daw ito and the convertion cost is P27,000.00. you can still use unleaded gasoline daw again in case na you ran out of LPG fuel. may switch silang install para magamit mo ulet ang gasoline as your fuel.
P22./liter ang LPG today, ang laki ng difference sa gasoline.
takot lang si misis ko ipa-convert ang tsikot namin, baka daw sumabog. hehehe....

according to him same lang ang consumption at hatak.
me advantage ka lang kasi mura lang LPG.
tank cylinder is "bangga proof".wag lang mag leak yung fuel/lpg line dahil sabog kotse mu.

July 19th, 2006 06:38 PM #239i think its the car and its engine na talaga ang problem. The Optra is a gas guzzler talaga, changing to LPG doesn't change the fact that the engine dynamics are not in sync with the car. The car being a gas guzzler from the start doesn't pertain that you will get better mileage if you switch to LPG because your using the same engine. It will only mean that you are spending less money on the gas as compared to before but that wont change the fact that the Optra is still a gas guzzler.
