wanna share my experience this morning lang. on my way to work driving through NLEX, I noticed that a lot of trucks and busses are using the passing lane as the regular cruising lane meaning parang sa japan where dirvers are sto stay at left and right lanes are for fast and passing vehicles. so what i did, went to the far right lane which made my travel faster (vehicles on the left traveling 60kph and less).
Ngayon la na naman ako magawa, i happen to pass by a pncc patrol and ask them why are they tolerating this? And they said that because of the rain, the right lanes tend to have more rain water because the road is sloped towards the right and motorists realized this.. kaya lang if you tend to cruise at 60kph on wet roads ok lang din to use the right lane according to international standards which the NLEX supposed to have complied i said. tapos ba naman the pncc guy told me that iba raw standards sa NLEX. huh???? I didn't bother continuinmg our conversation snce I find it pointless at that time.
I'm a civil engineer and has experiences in designing roads and never was there a time I experienced any civil engineer deviating from international standards (the DPWH abides by this). Sa akin lang kasi after the accident involving a number of cars yesterday sa NLEX, dapat siguro di mag-concentrate PNCC sa over-speeding vehicles but to slow moving vehicles on the fast lane even more. I don't know if its just me, pero it's safer to overtake going to the left than going to the right kasi may immediate vision ka of the vehicle ahead.
I think ganun yuung nangyari yesterday where the genesis bus has the most casualty. Sa akin lang it would definitely help a lot to tell drivers that if you're to cruise 60kph or less use the right lane and stay there. Or even if you're driving 80kph which is the mandated max. speed, mas ok na to stay in the middle lanes instead of occupying the left most (passing lane as designated by PNCC) lane. Again sana lang PNCC could be more vigilant on this for a safer day-to-day road adventure for all of us.

madami talagang pasaway na driver dito, kung aasahan mo lang yung PNCC then sasakit lang ulo mo. We already have enough laws but not enough enforcement.
