December 14th, 2005 11:17 PM #2862Hi johnnyd,
Yes, the check engine still lights up after im running. The OD lights blinks about 5 times then disappears, cause i've engaged the OD. So the OD is probably normal. I think its just an indicator of something not working to par. I've talked to nissan, and they are going to check my engine. Its still under warranty so, no problem there, but just the same, this is a brand new car, and its first time i've encountered this. No problems with honda and toyota in my experience.
Good Evening to all. - mikedmr and or city0920

additional info. when i had my xty serviced, pinalipat ko yung control ng rear foglight sa control ng front fog. so pag-on ang front, on ang likod. as kmo has shown before, may indicator light ang rear fog sa instrument cluster. when i had the control of all foglights joined. gumana na yung indicator light.

Hello guys, I just want to share my Nissan X-trail 250x 4x4 model, I acquired this one from the first batch of 2003. So i guess I may have a lot of inputs since I have this unit for quite a while now.
Here are some of the details of my unit:
Date acquired: August 2003
Present KM reading: 32,000 kms
Fuel consumption: 6-7 kms per litter (I find this ok for a 180hp 2.5 litter engine)
I have made a rating format for my unit 1-10, 10 being the highest:
Ride: 9.0
Handling: 8.5
Fuel economy: 7.5
Engine performance: 9.5
Comfort: 9.5
Manueverability: 7.5 (this is low for me, im not confident driving the xtrail fast on curves, probably because I am used to driving my Civic SiR)
Transmission: 10.0
Braking: 8.0
Road grip(stock suspension and tires): 7.5 (I find the xtrail unstable on quick
bends, straight line very balanced)
Interior design: 10.0
Interior layout: 10.0
Interior size: 10.0
Interior durability: 7.0 (its true there are a lot of problems with the glove compartment etc..snap on kasi sila)
Aircon front: 10.0
Aircon rear: 6.0 (Nissan should improve on this, malamig na sa harap mainit pa sa likod, giniginaw na ako sa harap kulang pa lamig sa likod)
Aircon design: 8.0 (I hate the outside air coming in, the A/C climate control is designed that way to control interior temperature. Which I think is a mistake in a city like Manila)
Driving position: 10.0
Driving comfort: 10.0
Display panel layout: 10.0
Rear space: 10.0
Overall: 9.0 vehicle
I bought my unit at 1.450M, this is a drawback...after 2 mos the unit went down to 1.270M...presently the 4x4 250x is around 1.3M with 100k discount if I am not mistaken. Although I paid more for my unit I have no regrets on the vehicle itself. Not to be biased but I have driven the Rav 4, CRV and Outlander...In 2003 I had so many options the Pajero is only 1.490M the Trooper is 1.5M the CRV is 1.1M same with the RAV4. I have chosen the Xtrail because it boasted superior design and technology. The vehicle gives value for my hard earned money.
A lot of people run through this thread to seek advice and feedbacks from already owners of the Xtrail, do I recommend buying the vehicle?
Answer is yes! No regrets, its a keeper.
Regards to all,
Marlon

city0920: All cars will encounter problems one time or another, no car is perfect thats why the warranty. Even Toyota's highly touted D4D has problems, some CRV owners here also have problems, all cars have problems, its imposible for one brand not to have any problems whatsoever... I'm not defending Nissan because we also have a Honda, Toyota, and a Mitsubishi.
Titleist983k: Thank you for the indept review, I agree on the aircon and the interior, interiors are held by screws and clips, well nothing is perfect in this world

I bought mine at Nissan UN, but im using it here in Zamboanga City. They have an authorized Nissan Shop here complete with equipments and diagnostic kits, but nevertheless, Nissan will send a tech here free of charge. In the Diags, it just said 1 item found defective. Supposedly, a sensor for the air mixture something, the one located near the air filter with a wire running through it. Anyway the xty can still run, but not as fast now. it jerks a little when it shifts to 2nd gear. Nissan said it is ok to run in this condition.
So what was the cause of your xty halting with check engine on?
Nice chatting with you guys here in this forum..
