audio set-up for beginners (ARCHIVED)

guys ano magandang sq setup ko kung budget ko around 20k. as of now complete na yung system ko. kaya lang gusto ko mag upgrade, kulang lang sa bass. underpowered kasi.

my current set up is
HU: pioneer P5850 (old school) na may tape pa pero may pre-out na
pioneer 12 disc cd changer,
mb quart 1" tweeters
mb quart 6.5" sa rear
pioneer ts-e1680 coax na nasa front door
sub: focal 10" kseries (free-air)
amp: proline aura 2 channel
xover: coustic xm-1e

balak ko kumuha ng new pioneer HU, na mp3/wma capable. if that happens, benta ko na old pionner HU ko with cd changer tapos add ko nalang sa budget. either way, i still need to buy a new amp. baka ibox ko na lang yung sub, or kuha nalang ako bago, JL siguro. kasi kung kakayanin naman ng focalko yung hanap kong bass pag kinahon, hindi nko bibili bago. invest ko nalang sa amp and new HU budget ko. thanks in advance.

peeps paano magauge kung sq or spl ang setup ko? i'm using 2 jl12w0 powered by 125 rms each rf p5002. i was told na malambot ang bayo ng jl kaya hindi raw siya spl. can anyone enlighten me?

good morning guys, pls help me on my enquires, nag give up na ksi yung stock speakers na nakakabit sa sasakyan ko. nakakita ako ng deal na ganito.

1 pair of sony speakers 2k
amplifier nv-805 - 3.5k
subwoofer v-12 na may ampli na daw 10" 1800watts - 4k
1 set ng rca wiring 1.3k
libre na daw yung kabit.

pasensya na kyo guys wala talaga akong alam pag dating sa car audio setup.
naisip ko lang ksing i upgrade yung sound system ng revo ko after bumigay yung front speakers nito. yung head unit ko pala tingin ko naman ay matino pa, alpine ito na meron itong line out para sa subs and may line in na sinetupan ko ng ipod.
budget ko around 11k to 15k lang. gusto ko lang ay mag improve yung tunog ng stereo ko clarity ba yun at may konting bass na din.

btw, if u guys are looking for nanos i have a source selling them at 15k for the 4gb and 12k for the 2gb!!! hehe, baka gusto nyo din.

Question po mga sir. Newbie sa sound setup po ako. Ano difference ng active and passive na subs in terms of performance/connection. I know(from home theater experience) na active is powered while passive, nakakonek lang sya directa sa output ng receiver, no power plug. E, sa mga car audio kaya, paano setup? For example wala akong amp, pero meron akong 3 RCA preouts(front + rear + subwoofer). Pioneer 8650 ang HU. Will passive sub be advisable kung wala ako amp?

mga bosing,very informative tong thread po. meron po kayo current prices and saan po kaya makakabili ng items for a new audio setup na may lumang HU and 6 cd changer na pioneer, na ang budget lang eh 15K . . . .

ano po magandang diskarte dito? and habol ko po, NOT that high end audio like JL or Kappa. Yun ok lang po na pwede na bumayo with the budget. hehehehe . . .

ang naiisip ko, hindi palit HU, changer, at 6x9 sa likod na pioneer din na 120W lang. so seps sa harap, (what brand, how much?), sub 12" sana wid box, at amp na 4 channel to power the front and sub. (what brand, how much, any suggestions saan bili po?) hehehehe . . . yun lang po. ty ng marami

Hello mga Guys' pasensya na at isa rin ako sa mga baguhan although may idea sa electronics but hindi familiar sa brand. I have a ride Mitsu SSLE with all stock sound system, it has 6 speakers kuno pero tunog lata, gusto ko sana i upgrade na pero no IDEA saan mag start. I have HU na Kenwood 40wx4. I think pwede pa ang HU, gusto ko sana palitan ang mga speakers sa pintuan at maglagay ng subs. Adventure has no space for subs at the back kasi may upuan na duon. Can I used boxes pero sana kung meron yung hindi naman masyadong malaki. Meron ba kayon alam na gumagawa nito? PLease help naman. Maraming SALAMAT po!

You could get your sub box fabricated to suit the location of your subs. For example, in a pickup you could have the subs at the back ofthe seats. This has only one advantage, limited sub size. Usually 8inchers will do the trick. To answer your questions of where to start. since you said your speakers were crappy, start with the seps. There are a lot brands to choose from so better go to a Sound EB to get an idea of what sound you would like to get out of your speakers. Caution: having the speakers heard in a showroom does not necessarily mean that it will sound the same in your car.

What type of sound are you after? SQ or SPL?
