a documentary based on real life events w/c was dubbed by law enforcement agencies and the media as the so-called "gone girl" copycat crime that occurred in vallejo, california a decade ago. the local police and the fbi apparently did some lazy police work w/c cost the couple and their respective families their reputations and a great amount of anxiety for invented infractions they were not guilty of.

benedict cumberbatch portrays a self destructing father of a lost kid in 1980's new york city. cumberbatch's character tries to find his child in the ruthless, gritty, crime ridden, and unforgiving big apple while coming to grips of the reality of his shortcomings as a pompous human being.

hard to believe the actress who portrays cumberbatch's wife, gaby hoffman, was the child actress i've watched growing up. nowadays, she looks so ancient. i guess that's the curse of white people's accelerated premature aging process.
