Govt procurement law is BS. Either it results in overpriced goods/service or poor quality products or worse both.

Kami sa office, we are always asked to put at least 15% mark up sa requested equipment (laptops, printers, etc).

Bakit? Sa haba ng proseso ng pagbabayad due to procurement law and accounting procedures, nagpapatong LAHAT ng suppliers ng interest sa puhunan nila.

SO if you will allot the exact amount for your equipment purchase, most likey a failed bidding will result.

BUT STILL, 700K FOR 4 LAPTOPS IS STILL A LOT EVEN WITH 15% MARK UP OER UNIT.
Yes it is, if they will be supplied with mid specs laptop. But if your thinking about 11th gen core-i7 processors, at least 16Gb RAM, at least 6GB dedicated graphics, 2TB SSD, licensed Windows Pro and Microsoft Office, plus the three years warranty, and coming from brands like DELL, etc, well di na ganun kalayo sa presyo. he he he. But if gagamitin lang for Zoom and spreadsheets, waste of money and hardware

sabi nga ni boss, "anong zoom and spreadsheets only! ke-mahal-mahal niyan...! sige! i-harabas nyo yan."

    heh heh.

Using your high end specs, if bought in the Philiopines, kulang yung 700k for 4 laptops with accessories.

I buy my workstation abroad, mas mura compared sa Philippine market, if ever available locally.

They're obviously for VIPs. Getting a high-end 2-in-1 laptop counts as a perk, regardless of what they plan to use it for. You don't give your boss the same device that his/her rank and file staff uses.

a post-er above mentioned "zoom and spreadsheets", and others assumed yata that that is what the laptop is for.
in truth, the specifications requirements did not mention zoom and spreadsheets at all.
