Gave my 3 year old MSI GS65 slim intel i7 nvidia gtx 1070 to my son. Will miss it.

His 6 year old laptop fried its cpu and its too difficult to replace.

I wonder if we can use it as a shell and put in a generic laptop motherboard inside. Though cooling will be an issue.

I brought it to multiple shops in Greenhills. They told me to find a new cpu (its an old 5th gen i7). Shrug.

Any experts here that can give advice? Its an alienware. Kinda chunky 15 inch. Dunno the model.

get a new one nalang bro.

compatibility with the old chipsets and new processor will be an issue.

Also, some peripherals might not work if you change the mobo.

Unfortunately, that’s the issue with most laptops. Proprietary yung internals and mahirap nang maghanap ng replacement parts after a few years.

is the cpu soldered or is it socketed? some chunky laptops have socketed cpus. lots of used cpus on ebay.

i dont think you can fry the cpu though, it has thermal protection. the vrm section probably died.

have you tried booting without the ram sticks or one stick at a time?

It won't even power on. Different power bricks used etc to no effect. Diagnosis was cpu. Its soldered on . Bringing it to megamall later for another try.

if it wont power on, its not the cpu, its the power section after the brick(adapter)

Whats a good brand for a printer? Our HP printers never last more than 4 years

Has anyone tried Ink Tank printers?

Epson ink tank! We have the L120 at mura ang ink bottle. Philippine made pa!
    It’s a basic printer.
We also have a Canon 3-in-1 for photo printing.
Both more than 4 years old.
