When I lived in the US, there were a couple of times that Mexicans or other South Americans approach me and start speaking Spanish. I just tell them, “no habla Espanol”.

Sometimes it works in my favor though. After 9/11, airport security was quite strict in the US and they were a bit rude to Asians. I was as common as most Chicanos so I just walk along leisurely. Hehehehe

i learned spanish in the home, because my abuela refused to talk to us in non-spanish.
it was just enough to pass me thru elementary school spanish and college spanish.

my nieces speak very good english but not a word of spanish.
thanks to sesame street...

i must apologize.
my spanish is crumbly. we don't speak it anymore, ever since our uncle, who was rumored to be the last subscriber to "el debate", passed away.

Mi espanol es muy malo tambien :P Even my Lolo speaks better English than Spanish. He said it's because my great grandparents aren't good English speakers kaya sila magkakapatid English mag usap hahaha

Crush made this sound while we were on the phone and he was looking for information that he wanted to show me. He made this frustrated "ugghh" sound! That was so hot!!! I was distracted and couldn't think straight for a couple of minutes, sana di niya nahalata! HAHAHA!
