July 22nd, 2020 10:19 PM #291Late 90s to early 2000s AMD was the enthusiast choice for bang for the buck processors (Super Socket 7 K6-2s, Slot A and later Socket A Athlons, Durons, Semprons). Then came 2006 and the first Intel Core Duos and later i-series procs appeared and AMD was left behind with hot-running (and sometimes expensive) processors. Only with the Ryzen have enthusiasts come flocking back to team AMD.

July 22nd, 2020 10:27 PM #293Ryzen 5 is 6 core with 12 threads. Intel just increased the core count of i5s I think starting 8th gen (no hyperthreading) to match Ryzen 5. Lamang sa max frequency Intel but mas value for money ang AMD.

R7-3700U is comparable to i5-8265U, with the i5 generally faster.
Desktop matchup is not the same as laptop matchup.
