I'll buy a cvt equipped car, if the design permits easy replacement of cvt belts, just like in scooters. I had a scooter before, the belt do worn out and its noticeable in a year. Efficient ang cvt kaso mahirap if sa car gagamitin.

Yup, if they become rebuildable like regular ATs, why not? I see its pluses....just not on the same boat w/ those who believe everything Toyota or Honda is good & bulletproof....not the CVT....not yet.

Or if they can manufacture cvt belts that could last 300K Km. Regular ATs reach this mark with zero to minimal problems, as long as they are well maintained.

I remember the 1st Gen Honda Jazz that I owned. Used it for a couple of weeks, then yan na ang mga problema. Gusto ko sapakin yung mga SA at mechanics ng Honda dati. For a 3 month old car, I was thinking of changing the tranny to a manual type.

Since then, I stayed away from cvts. Ewan q lang un mga bago ngaun, mukhang mas matibay na, although still no figures on how long they could last worry free.

Its because Honda mistakenly put a different atf on their brand new cars.

Of course there will be some cars with CVTs without issues. In comparison with the modern automatic transmission, that's the question.

A Honda mechanic told me they usually handle CVT issues, lots of them.

Guys tanong ko lang, is the I-Eloop the same as the i-Stop? I've read there were recalls of earlier models of Mazda6 because of the faulty I-Eloop.

My friend's 2012 Mazda6's I-Eloop broke down at sabi ng casa, it will be around 100k. I told him about the recall so he will talk to Mazda about it.

Eloop is the system that charges the capacitors from brakes and discharges when istop engages.

Istop is the system that engages engine deactivation when car is stopped.

It means our CX5 has the i-ELoop system? If so, wala naman sigurong recall? Coz earlier models of Mazda3 and 6 have recalls.
