    they cannot announce naman kasi if walang permission from their r&d

    "t will work in the beginning when it has just recently shut off. But the brake pressure will slowly go away and you will lose braking power over time per application (which shouldn't be an issue as you have no engine, hence can't accelerate)."

    Mga sirs. . . D po mawawa ang preno pag patay ang makina. . . You just have to step on it harder. . . Anybody experienced driving their vehicle being towed tied on a rope?

    Why doesn't a car's brake work when the engine is off? - Quora

    My mistake.

    I once encountered a situation after pumping the brakes before (with the engine off) after falling thru a drainage manhole and need help to be pushed out.

    In that situation, after I was helped out, there was no more braking power even with the brake pedal straight to the floor.

    After I started the car, had to pump the brake a few more times before pressure was restored.

    It was a 1999 Revo MT.

    Imho, if the pedal went straight to the floor. . Then there's fluid leak or air in the system. . . Because. . . It should not happen. When you pumped the brakes when the engine was started, actually evem if you did not start the engine. You're just reintroducing brakefluid or not as effectively, air into the system. . But it will eventually fail again.

    No problem.

    I'm honestly not sure what happened exactly that time but the brake performed again after I pumped the brakes more in that exact moment. Happened about 10 years ago, car was 9 years old (more or less). =) Well, it's why I appreciate the discussion because people here do chime in.

    My own personal experience can only "go so far" so seeing the inputs helps me correct any misinformation (or lack thereof) I have.

    Thanks. =)

    Just to update: I got my Xpander back from the casa with the new fuel pump. However, I talked to the service technician and they could not say for sure that the new fuel pump is different/improved over the old one. They look exactly alike.

    I just don't know and can't know if this will happen again. Mitsubishi's response to this problem is very worrying and it's safe to say I won't be be buying Mitsubishi ever again.

    This is also Mitshubishi's worry I bet for the meantime. The only remedy they have is to keep on replacing the defective fuel pumps and hoping that after the warranty period has expired, aftermarket fuel pumps will already be available in Banawe

    Just out of curiosity, isn't the SUA issue with the earlier model Montero Sport also Fuel Pump related?

    Seems like Mitsu needs to find better parts manufacturers. Or is Da Pilipins being used as test market again?
