Split Type Aircon: Which is best?

The noise from window-type A/Cs are really not a big deal. Just a few nights with it, you'll find that the drone acts as white noise and can actually help you sleep. I experienced this the first time we switched from a window-type to a split. Took me a couple of nights to adjust to the silence.

Humans are very adaptable. The noise from a window A/C is just superficial and will "go away" in time. That is, your brain will learn to ignore it eventually.

Do consider brands, usage, savings, comparative purchase costs between conventional units & inverters prior to deciding. Inverters are proven to cut around 40% of energy consumption, yes, but It might go against reason if the usage is seldom or short. Savings can be much or lil & recovery, short or loooong...depending on usage.
Inverters are like modern cars.....laden w/ more complex circuitry & have more parts that may be prone to dying than conventional.... Always check the model's reviews & reliability feedback. Some do prematurely die prior to cost diff recovery.

Only thing I see is putting decorative metal cage to act as protection for intruder as well as cover the exposed part. But still doesn't as good a esthetically compare to installing split type.

Yes, you'll get used to it. The sound it makes will be like a lullaby. I remember many years ago, I was sleeping besides a boiler literally! I can't imagine how I was able to adapt but I did.

Just to reiterate, *travajante, inverter type will "cost less" if "used more". In other words, if you'll be using the air conditioner seldomly then you should stay away from inverter types.

I made some quick computations based on lazada price of condura 1.5 hp * P20k and 1.5 hp inverter * P39k, if i use it for 8 hours daily, at P10/kwh, it will take 2 years and 4 months to recover the price difference assuming 30% savings. Will 1.5hp be enough for a 20 sqm room?
