TS already said, he wasn't here to discuss sua veracity.
he was asking, what avenues are available, to help in his relative's hospital bills, etc.

How about TPL Insurance? It applies to third party injuries or damage, right?

I understand that you'll take the word of your sister and believe that she didn't panic and mistakenly stepped on the accelerator thinking it was the brakes, but there have been absolutely zero conclusive tests to show that SUA is real.

If it were, it should've been reproducible under the right conditions. A far more plausible but way more bitter pill to swallow is that all SUA cases are simply driver error.

The ergonomics of the pedal placement of the Montero is one thing, but again, driver error.

Yes, but this is a bit different. My Sister was parked and was on the brakes the whole time because she was waiting for my Mom to get in the car. When my Mom got in, my Sister switches from P to D (which you can't do while the brakes are depressed) and the car started accelerating with full torque.

I know most of the people here won't belive that and I completely understand as I was not a SUA believer until this very incident. But I just to lay the story out. No bashes/flames please

2010 Montero? You can still shift from P to D without stepping on the brakes with that model. 2012 up lang yung kailangan tapakan yung brakes to shift from P to D.

So your sister could have been stepping on the accelerator all along when she thought she was on the brakes as she shifted from P to D.

Ahh, I see. I forgot already as I'm not the user of the car. We have CCTV footage, I'll check if the brake lights were on when she was parked.

Hmm... usually the last thing before I release the foot brake after engaging drive is too disengage the hand brake when i'm parked. In case some goes wrong, I can still pull the handbrake up again...

Yes, I forgot the handbrake. But she released it first before changing from P to D.

Medyo mababa lang amount sa TPL, even sa comprehensive insurance mababa yung insured amounts unless pina increase mo yung coverage. For the medical expenses of injured parties you can see if PCSO can help with their expenses.

Kung naka comprehensive insurance pa yan mataas na 50k makuha nya pero 2010 pa yung unit baka mas mababa na. Ingat nalang sa pagdrive susunod [emoji16]
