Been reiterating my strong dollar view in Q4

But it seems the dollar is tired

The dollar index is under 93

The treasury yield curve keeps flattening

On the short end yields have risen due to anticipation of Fed rate hike this month

On the long end yields have fallen due to low inflation expectations

The dollar can only strengthen when yields on the long end rise

Keep an eye on US 10Y and 30Y yields

I don't know the details of US tax reform

All I know is it will benefit the wealthy

Who knows if the US economy will get stronger

As if the rich will spend more money if they pay less tax

For sure US govt debt will get even bigger (less tax collection)

Dyan papasok ang interest rates

Kung lumaki ang deficit, investors will demand higher interest on US govt bonds

Higher interest on US govt bonds is an incentive to hold USD

So the dollar should strength as US bond yields rise

That's why I said keep an eye on the 10Y and 30Y
