Thanks everyone! Good to know that there's a supportive community among M3 owners. [emoji106]

My first on the list is to upgrade the wheels to 18". Hehe! Any suggestions?

The current Skyactiv platform is an engineering marvel in itself. High compression efficiency w/o forced induction...and it runs on regular unleaded w/o the knock risk. No turbo nor supercharger...1 less part to worry about. The Sky tranny is the best out there, too. Other makes resort to CVT to get economy numbers in both production & fuel consumption. CVTs w/ their rubber band drive are cheaper to build, are more fragile & require special periodic maintenance to squeeze more life out of em......not w/ Mazda. The Sky is no CVT....no odd tranny feel.[emoji4]
Reliabilty? The past 3years of ownership here have only been free PMS covered by their yojin. It's spoiling....& it's not surprising to see current Mazda owners having multiple kodos in their garages. I personally know a few.[emoji4]

And to add to your already great write-up, [emoji1] the Mazda automatic transmission is not just an ordinary transmission. The SkyActiv transmission is a first in itself as it is kinda "hybrid" meaning it still uses torque converter for shifting. However built also inside the torque converter is a clutch type system that provides a good lock once the speed and gear are properly synchronized and engaged.

I have to admit the advantage of the CVT I'm terms of efficiency because it maintains the proper ratio almost all the time with reference to torque and speed. However, yeah maintenance and durability issues are to be considered. And that odd tranny feel, meaning the so called "droning"? You may get use to it but it really really doesn't have that "feel" of a performance car.

Hi, Rey! When do you plan to get a new car?

If you're not getting a new car anytime soon, I can share fuel consumption stats with you -- but that is if you can give me at least 2 weeks to burn about 2 full tanks of fuel.

I'll get my unit on Saturday
