Other countries have banned them. Sa atin naman, the law is just a suggestion.[emoji16]
Out of the 66,000 uber drivers, parang 1000 lang daw ang na-approve ng ltfrb. The rest are pending but still plying.
And if only we had an efficient MRT system, then i can say uber can be banned or limited

Singapore is basically a city-state. A rich city state.

We're a widely dispersed island group. We still need private wheeled transport out in the poorer areas of the country.

Many barangays are too remote for a profitable jeepney service.

As it is, we don't have enough wheeled transport to service everyone.

Manila's issue is human congestion. 500k provincial commuters and drivers trying to take just one road every day. On top of the several million residents who still need to get around, themselves.

    -

Ever try to debark at the final MRT station at night? There are so many passengers it takes several minutes just to get out of the station.

Buses are worse. Standing room only on many buses, even past rush hour. The only time you don't have to put up with overcrowding is near midnight.

    -

I'd like to say improving public transport will allow us to do away with cars... but it won't.

What we need to do is get rid of commuters.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

the key to decongesting the metro, is to make it cost-effective for the citizens to move out of it.

I was introduced first to Uber e and I think grab started as grab taxi before they had grab car.

I've never tried grab car but I installed the app because they had a promo before na they gave away pack of dimsum to those who signed up

In short, bilang na ang oras mo...hehehe

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has “unanimously agreed” to increase taxi fares, making it “at par” with the rates of transport network company Uber, Chairman Martin Delgra III said Wednedsay.

“Ang gagawin, we will try to make it at par with TNVS (transport network vehicle services) or more particularly with the Uber system kasi nade-dehado daw mga taxi drivers ngayon,” Delgra said during the Senate finance committee hearing on the proposed 2018 budget for the Department of Transportation (DOTr).

“Ang gagawin na namin ng Board, we have already agreed unanimously, we are going to do it on a running time rate so aside from the distance travelled, meron na ring papasok on the time travel,” he explained.

He said an increase in taxi fares would hopefully solve the problem of “underutilization” of cabs.

They want higher rates? Pero they did not addressed the real issue of choosy drivers and old and sometimes smelly cabs? Unbelievable.
