this one is written by the former EIC of Top Gear PH....seems bitter siya kay JD as what I have read dun sa link and in his FB post.
and why are you against Deakin whereas he's just trying to help the motorists? dahil ba he's on the side of the TNCs?
also, he's doing his job on other aspects of motoring. porke na-drag yung issue ng Uber ay damay na rin si Deakin? he's just stating the issues of public transpo dito sa Metro Manila.
kaya nga yung ayaw sumakay sa taxi, they resort to grab/uber because of safety.
just my 2 cents.

August 16th, 2017 08:03 AM #183"that's his point of view. this is mine."
"let us agree to dis-agree."
it's that simple.
"let him speak!"
isn't that part of democracy?Last edited by dr. d; August 16th, 2017 at 08:11 AM.

Tried Grab kanina lang since coding ako today.
Lumalabas na mas mura sya ng 50 pesos compared to Uber ang medyo hassle lang is that you pay for the toll fee in cash.

August 16th, 2017 11:07 AM #187Since the suspension of Uber, wala na akong ma-book na Grab sa umaga. kung titingnan mo naman sa app, maraming grab car around the area. I also noticed, bumaba pa ang fare ng 17% (for the past 2 days).

August 16th, 2017 12:39 PM #188when they filed that motion for reconsideration, they immediately poster on their FB page na re-activated ang Uber app. that is complete disregard of the law. yun ang nakaka-turn off sa management na yan. when LTFRB said that you can still operate naman after the suspension, you just the run the risk of Uber Drivers being apprehended as colorum drivers. so the LTFRB stated na in the spirit of support for their drivers, Uber na lang ang magbayad sa kahit ano mang financial difficulty na aabutin ng isang Uber operator, for instance Uber can absorb or reimburse the fine of P150K to the uber operator.
ano ginawa ni Uber in-off nya app. so they are defiant and yet when they are asked to rally with their own Uber drivers sa nakikita nilang pinaglalaban na tama, i-off nya yun app.
That is hypocrisy. yan ang nakaka-turn-off sa kumpanyang yan. That also suggests na wala kahit ano mang accountability ang Uber sa mga Uber operators nila cause they won't risk paying for the fine of their uber drivers. at least with taxi operators, sila ang sumasagot pag naaksidente o nakaakisidente driver nila. so ano yun insurance na sinasabi ng Uber? compre or tpl ng uber operator? eh di sa third party o sa govt-mandated din yun.
is this not so easy to understand? translate nyo na lang say your kid or your wife may nangyari while riding Uber, walang sagot si Uber sa loved ones nyo pag may untoward incident. eto na nga oo, first time Uber can prove to their Uber drivers they care, dine-activate nila app for fear na sila magbabayad sa gastos ng uber driver/operator. what a greedy company, nag-accept ng sobrang daming operators pagtapos walang accountability.
and Deakin is not helping either. He knows this. I dont know why he's trying to bury this issue and instead put the blame on the inadequacies of other public utility vehicles. that is not the main issue to be addressed here. sa iba na yun. you don't argue with the law by means of comparison. that's not how our justice system works. he's just inciting some sort of unrest sa mga uninformed netizens. bakit nya ginagawa ito? he cares? if he truly cares, then be a crusader. don't mislead the people, be truthful.

in order to understand why uber the company behaves the way it does
you have to understand the philosophy of its founder
Travis Kalanick is a libertarian
an Ayn Rand disciple
people like that believe in minimal government interference
they believe individuals should be able to do whatever they want and anyone who stands in their way should be dealt with
they see government regulators as enemies
gets mo na?
ang uber walang paki sa rules
ganyan attitude nila kahit saan bansa sila pumunta
that's why madami sila problema with regulators in many countries
di lang dito sa Pinas
uber doesn't ask for permission
they do what they want then pag nasita sila ng regulators, that's the time they acknowledge the regulatorsLast edited by uls; August 16th, 2017 at 12:53 PM.

August 16th, 2017 01:03 PM #190Uber was a great app. I first used it sa LA in 2014. before I rode it, nagbasa muna ako sa internet about Uber. it says there Uber is a riding sharing app that I am basically riding a private owned car around LA. Car owners with more time on their hands can offer ride services. so simple.
how come biglang nagkaganito? if that is their philosophy, then that's the same double-edge sword na pwede nila gawin sa sariling nilang operators as well as their riders. anyone who stands in their way babanatan nila, This is so damn RECKLESS! bakit inallow sa society natin ang ganito?
