June 5th, 2017 07:26 PM #301Flights to Doha will be suspended by airlines of the 4 arab states. Overflight passing through those countries to Doha is questionable, especially those of Qatari Airways.
Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia, flydubai suspend flights to Qatar - Khaleej Times
Imports of goods going through KSA land routes have also been suspended. For the US, this is big trouble since it also same route that supplies the biggest US Military base in the Middle East.

so a ransom payment of up to $1B was paid to people linked to Iran and Al Qaeda
that's what triggered the severance of ties
it's a sunni shia thing
giving a billion dollars to Iran = support for shia
the Saudis and other sunni-led arab states have large shia populations
they're afraid of shia uprising
