Yun nga eh. I'm still observing. Still haven't gotten around making a full tank method computation yet, but if the rate the fuel in the tank is disappearing is any indication, it really isn't as fuel efficient as I expected.

I admit to having a lead foot when driving it. I'm still seeing if light footed driving will significantly improve consumption. Traffic conditions... not too bad naman most of the time.

Am considering installing the Unichip. Perhaps there is something wrong with the tuning? Thorough oil and filter change done already.

are you using the fuel gauge to measure your mileage. i do not recommend that way. it has one of the most inaccurate fuel gauge. santa fe has a 75L tank. my gauge reads a notch above half full tank but when i refilled, it consumed 42 liters to automatic shut-off

So in your case the real fuel consumption is actually more than what the fuel gauge let on? That's not very encouraging...

i am just stating here how inaccurate the fuel gauge is. it is not related to how i measured my mileage. always use full tank method if you want a accurate measurement of your mileage.

^Indeed. The Santa Fe is seldom used though, and I am not the only one who uses it. So madalas patingi tingi ang pagpagas.

Anyway, I just got back from Speedlab having installed the Unichip. Baseline whp was abnormally low at just 95whp which is supposedly above 20-25whp down what most others make. After tuning it was able to achieve almost 140whp. Here's hoping that the abnormal fuel consumption will improve as well.

Left seaoil around 10am, left clark around 6pm. 3 adults and 1 toddler. It was a Sunday but the average speed recorded before I reset the ticker upon entry sa Balintawak was 18km/h. Had multiple EDSA gapang moments balikan. Dun sa highway bumawi ang averages.
