The movie was about the question of "does language determine how a person thinks"? Given human normally perceive time as linear, would humans gain the ability see time as a "whole" and not as a line if they were taught to think in a different language that assumes time differently from normal humans? The movie shows us scenes we thought to be the woman's past including her baby daughter and eventual terminal illness. But as the movie progresses, it shows us that it is not her past, it is her future that was shown to us.

Earlier this month, Sakaling Di Makarating. Last week, I'm Drunk, I Love You. Both local, both by young filmmakers. Both on opening day. Both films made by friends so I might not be fully objective.

Sakaling Di Makarating is such a visual feast. Beautifully shot, vibrant colors, amazing locations. Talagang maiisip mo na ang ganda ganda ng Pilipinas. They should get a grant or something from the DOT. If you didn't have wanderlust before watching this film, you would afterwards.

I'm Drunk I Love you is a beautifully written film about best friends, unrequited love, the uncertainties of adulthood and coming of age. But it's nowhere near as corny or as serious or as heavy as I made it sound, because of how it was written. We say that a script is good when it doesn't draw attention to itself, when the lines aren't forced or awkward or overlong. In IDILY the dialogue is so natural that you feel sometimes that you just happen to overhear a conversation between real people, real friends. And the story is so relatable too. We've either been in their shoes or know someone who has. Plus there's a cute bonus: UP jokes and throwback locations for the iskos and iskas in the audience.

Hidden Figures. Its a movie about 3 black women genius at math working at NASA during the 60s space race. It's a movie showing that math is cool. I hope the movie somehow inspired my kids to be good at math.

Yes to this! IDILY was so well-written. One of the few romance films that isn't nakaka-umay, same league as That Thing Called Tadhana. 👍

Watched the movie Danny Collins[2015] last night starring Al Pacino, Annette Bening, Christopher Plummer, Jennifer Garner and Bobby Cannavale.... One of the better films I watched in quite a while.... It was inspired by a true story of musician Steve Tilston who received a 1971-handwritten letter from John and Yoko,- 34 years later,- as it somehow got lost.....

I think the last better film I watched was Everybody's Fine[2009] starring Robert de Niro, Drew Barrymore and Kate Beckinsale....

    Family is priority!
