I saw in Lazada for some as low as P5k. I don't really need the expensive high end ones. Just need one that can be used for reverse camera, & bluetooth & steering wheel controls as well.

Anyone here tried any of them in Lazada? Or any other cheap recommendation? Thanks!
Ended up getting a Pioneer 2850. Got a rear view cam, & connector for the steering wheel as well. Downloaded the pioneer app to connect the phone. Menu seeps a bit complicated. Sometimes, I can make waze to show on the unit, but oftentimes just a blank screen, but there's an audio from waze. Menu seems a bit complicated, maybe just needs some getting used to.

i'm not wanting to shatter any windows naman but i just want to add a little oomph to the car's sound system (non-stock na siya bale) . so i'm guessing i might settle for an underseat active sub because i don't want to sacrifice the trunk space of our fd. any brand (that's not too painful on the wallet) anyone can recommend mga bro?
There are some underwear subs that cost around P5k I think.

Yung problema boss, Google stopped support for headunits, not just Pioneer, and wants to focus on Android Auto. So Waze is stuck nalang as audio. My 8850BT has Android Auto but Waze isn't available yet, but according to Google it is in the works soon.

    [QUOTE=jhnkvn;2770661]Re: Two 8" versus 10"

If your intent is to fill out a City's cabin, even just a single 8" would do the job. You're not into gapang naman (and even if you are, it'll still be enough for the average listener). But to be safe, I'll suggest a single 10".

While two 8" would be theoretically be better, a single 10" would be better for your wallet

    Thank you sir jhnkvn!
I end up buying a used RE se12d2 with ported box. Ok naman sya puno ang jazz pagbumira hehe kaso almost puno din cargo area ko hehe. 11x28 ang nasakop. What if i use a rectangular 1cuft sealed enclosure para sa RE? Maganda pa rin kaya? Solved ako sa performance now but masimportante ung space eh. For the meantime inienjoy ko na rin ung medyo gapang na bass haha but i need a mono amp masusunog ung c160 amp ko underpower sir. Planning to buy used sound magus x or vs 1500 pagmaybudget na. Any inputs about this amp? Thanks po again.

T/S parameters of SE and the *** series are the same so you should check that series out for your enclosure recommendations (woofers). The *** is the direct successor of the wildly popular SE-series. I still scratch my head on why you went for a secondhand RE Audio though.. in general I dislike secondhand subwoofer drivers on the basis that most people abuse them heavily

Just get a 1 cu. ft. sealed enclosure. But if possible, stretch it a bit. What you want is to stretch the internal dimensions as much as possible while it's conforming to your size restrictions. For example, if you can still stretch it to a 1.4 cu.ft sealed, go for it.

Reason for this is that a bigger box lessens power handling because box = efficiency. If you needed 500W in a 1.0cu ft box to play a certain sound level, it'll probably need around 300W in a 1.5cu.ft box. I would recommend the best of both worlds, get the ported 1.5cuft box * 35hz. +3dB on the port is not a laughing matter especially if it's +3dB.

My original plan is a pair 8" or a 10" new! until i came across with this for sale RE and ur ideas which i have read in your past post popping in my head hehe
... "why 10" if you could squeeze a 12" and call it a day"
.... about xmax, isip ko 18mm ang RE eto na un hihi
....at 600w rms with 150% w rms mono amp (wala pa ako) will be more head room! Sabi mo nga its better to lower the gain than nothing if you want more...
... from a company who spend more in R&D.

Except used nga lang siya. Tempting eh for a price of 5K with L ported box ( na dinig ko pa kagad hehe. dont know lang wer it tuned). Sumugal na ako hehe. For many times using jumper cable and burning fuels hindi pa naman umusok vc hehe and not even once na distort siya, im aboved average listener.
May konting scratch lang ang cone at medyo gutay ang carpet ng box and i think glue lang katapat. I still prefer na magsealed para space saver.

Na pansin ko lang hindi ako makatagal sa loob ng jazz at high volume masakit sa ulo hehe (magkakahalataan na) haha.

Na absorb ko about power handling so i dont need pla sobra lakas ng amp kung i use ported box.

    1. Yup, a 12" will always be superior to a 8" or a 10" as it can move more air with less cone travel.
    2. RE Audio has always been well-loved and well-received

Regarding your question, the answer is.. a simple no. All it cares is the internal space of the box. After all, you can't really know how often will a certain sound wave bounce around inside the enclosure.

For the enclosure, just pay attention to:
    1. What material, type, and size of the enclosure.
    2. Whether you'll "stuff" it with rockwool or mineral wool inside. Meron effect yan.
    3. Its internal bracing. This is how home audio companies sell 6 digit subwoofer enclosures.
    4. Orientation. Iba yun sound if you have the speaker fire up or from the side.
    5. Where you'll place it in the car.

These are probably the 5 biggest variables on how the subwoofer will sound in your car. #1, #2, and #3 will affect waves of the subwoofer while #4 and #5 is more about acoustics. On a subwoofer basis, #1 is the most important one. But how it'll sound in your car will depend on #4 and #5.

That's why car audio is challenging. Different kasi ang acoustics ng vehicle so even if a certain subwoofer sounds good in Car A, it might not necessarily sound good in Car B if you're hardcore about it

when i was into car audio the best subs for SQ was often a 10 incher, its was accurate on bass drums and bass guitar runs, 12" for sq/spl applications....
