Mitsubishi PH: reports of DTI filing charges against MMPC untrue
MMPC will comply with DTIs recommendations
posted December 17, 2015 18:25
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has been under the radar for the past month due to the Montero Sport's Sudden Unintended Acceleration (SUA) issue.
As a review, MMPC held a press conference last December 1, 2015 where the company said that the Montero Sport vehicles are “free from design and manufacturing defects that could cause sudden unintended acceleration (SUA).” MMPC also said during the press-con. that they are willing to support and cooperate with the Department of Trade and Industry's initiative to investigate the SUA issue.
With that in mind, MMPC released an official statement regarding DTI's recommendation to “hire an independent third party expert(s)” to investigate the issue at hand.
Below is the statement sent to us in full:
MMPC welcomes the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) recommendation to hire an independent third party expert(s) to perform all relevant tests and investigation on the Montero Sport. MMPC, DTI investigation panel, and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will lay out within 30 days the terms and conditions for the conduct of investigation by such third party expert.
MMPC also welcomes the DTI recommendation to conduct the free inspection and mandatory preventive maintenance of all DTI identified SUA complainants’ vehicles and issue quality reassurance certification.
There was also a recommendation for MMPC to continue its free check-up campaign for all Montero Sport automatic owners and to provide the same certificate of quality reassurance for the purpose of providing peace of mind to its owners. MMPC will remind its current and new customers the proper operation of an automatic vehicle and other safety measures in starting and driving a vehicle.
We assure all Montero Sport owners that we remain committed to a transparent resolution of this alleged SUA issue and to provide safe and quality vehicles.
MMPC deeply regrets and sympathizes with its customers that have been affected by the alleged SUA issues. MMPC will continue to work with its customers to assure their safety.

From this article:
"DTI's legal recommendations, meanwhile, are the following: (1) "endorsement of all 24 complaints to the*Fair Trade Enforcement Bureau" of the agency; and (2) "the filing of the necessary*Formal Charge*against concerned parties" should the aforementioned third-party investigation yield "reasonable grounds."

Misdirection.... Because Vernon Sarte told them that the video splicing of the white MS SUA incident with the pussycat traumatized - is not good. Yari daw sila. That is when they first aired the incident. The next day hindi na si Vernon guest speaker, iba na.
It was from TGP nga pala. ABS-CBN did not confirm or deny him.
So inunahan na nila MMPC, baka magsampa pa kaso. Para iba na ang nakasalang kumbaga.

Would the other car manufacturers be afraid of abs? With the way they twisted the news and all. Given foreign companies itong mga to, their reputation is getting tarnished here.
