Also, stop going out of the thread's topic. The 4JA1 is now for the Crosswind, not the D-Max. If you want to rant about the 4JA1, head over to the Crosswind thread and leave us in peace. I bet you will have more fun with their reactions over there. I will not deny that both engines have a greater tendency to belch out smoke. But who ever said that in this case, the 4JA1 is worse? I still see way more 4D56-powered Mitsubishis, even the current Montero Sports, that belch out loads of black smoke. If you claim that the Isuzu belches smoke out more, you better provide us with proof. And I mean do not just send us a link showing how much the Isuzu belches. We want a source that clearly shows a comparison and states/explains why the 4JA1 supposedly belches smoke more than the 4D56. Otherwise, your claims have no merit.

Maintenance wise, they just might be equal when you think about it. Since the 4JA1 uses a timing chain, it does not need to be serviced at around 80k - 100k km, which is the case with the Adventure's 4D56. Yes, Isuzu parts may be more affordable, but with this replacement, they pretty much even out. Adding to that, if you really do your research, the Mitsubishi tends to be less reliable and less powerful than the Isuzu. The first point would equate to more times at the casa/repair shop and higher costs. I am not saying that the Mitsubishi sucks though. It just cannot match up to the Isuzu in this case, aside from cheaper parts.

Ang hindi maganda sa isuzu, they always tell the buyers... Pinaka bago po engine. 2015 model. Sa totoo pala, bawal na eto this coming January. Why do we have to defend them. Ang baho na nga ng taktiks.

Kulang sa business ethics. Contributing to Manila's pollution. Kahit yung newly introduced na 4jj1-tcx. That is an over 5 yr old engine sa labas. 4jj1-tcx was introduced in late 2006. Bakit ngayon ka lang? After almost a decade. For phase out na ata sa labas. Wake up... It's like smelling the garbage, the salesman told you it smells good and you said yes.

I am not defending Isuzu Philippines. I just find the extent of your ranting completely unnecessary. Plus you are merely stressing yourself and the other forum members out with your negativity. Why complain about how Isuzu Philippines makes us think that they are providing us with the newest technology? Only a fool would fall for the the salesman's claims that it is the newest and latest. Smart buyers know better than that, and if you do not like what a certain brand offers, simply buy your car elsewhere. Or like I said before, go buy gray market. If you can really complain that much, I would assume that you have the resources to buy the exact variant that you want. Most of us here are fine with what Isuzu is offering in our country, and we know for a fact that we are content with older technology because it may suit our needs even better than the latest tech (Ex: Better availability of parts, easier/less complicated repairs, more familiarity, generally proven and more reliable, etc). The way you always want the latest and greatest really gives off that vibe that you have a great sense of entitlement. I am sure you are better than that.

Once again, I cannot see enough evidence to believe your claims that the 4JJ1 is a smoke belcher / strong pollutant. That engine is still newer than Mitsubishi's ancient and ever-belching 4D56, even if the latter received more recent modification. So why not rant to Mitsubishi as well? Plus in case you have not read the article posted a few weeks ago, the new 1.9 Ddi is not their top of the line engine in Thailand. It still is the 3.0 4JJ1 TCX.

Once again, we are smarter than the salesmen, and we (most of us, at least) freely decided knowing fully what we would get. Do not make unintelligent remarks by assuming and saying we are falling for the dealers' tricks, for we really are not.

The mivec diesels will kick isuzu in terms of durability and economy. More power, more torque. Still a long way to catch up. Not to mention the old decade ride quality of Isuzu. That's why, we just left ours to our driver to use. The noise and ride quality is really bad.

Nakakamiss talaga yang "no computers....no problems". Dati lumalamon ng kahit ano ang mga old diesels.
