August 11th, 2015 08:58 AM #911both are good cameras. sj5000 have real 16MP sensor while sj4000 have 2MP sensor na interpolated. try watching techmoan review for both. one advantage for sj4000 is longer battery life at 90 mins while the sj5000 at 60 mins or less

720p ok na sa akin. parang overkill na 1080p. you don't need all the details, just enough na makita mo kung sino may kasalanan in case of an accident. look at cctvs, anlalabo ng mga yan pero enough to pinpoint kung sino ang at fault. pero when i tested, 720p 3min videos are around 300mb while 1080p 3min videos are around 350mb so konti lang naman ang difference sa file size. WB is auto tapos +1/3 exposure to compensate for my windshield's medium tint. i don't enable audio recording anymore.
kung madilim yung sa gabi na video, that's normal. i just download the video on my computer or phone and adjust using the video player. i use vlc. it pulls out great details even on dark videos.

August 11th, 2015 06:13 PM #914Thanks dito. Sinipag tuloy ako ayusin yung wire. 3 meters cable ginamit ko may konting sobra lang. Sa passenger side ko pinadaan.
Yung setting ko ng sjcam 720p +1/3 stop exposure at auto na lahat. Almost 278mb yung size every 5 minutes with audio so nasa 9 hours kaya nyang irecord gamit 32gb card.

Yung setup ko right now is a bit messy dahil walang clips at tape pero it does the job of routing the cables.
PS: pics from Ertiga Club Philippines facebook page.

^^ Thanks for all the feedback regarding nighttime settings.
No windshield tint so default exposure settings seem to give me the best results. Upping the exposure to even +1/3 gives me problems with glare at night especially with light sources, ie oncoming vehicles headlamps and streetlights. The fact that I also have Phillips Xtremevision bulbs adds to this issue when it reflects on the plate number from the vehicles I'm following. The glare is so bad sometimes that it makes the plate numbers of vehicles in front of me unreadable.
I've also settled on 720p because I can set capture rate at 60fps. Will try disabling audio, as it is parang almost 1gb per 10 min yung file size.
I also ordered 5m long usb cables, will try some cable management once it arrives.
