hi! im new in audio setup. i go for clarity pero binili ko yung setup ng friend ko 6 pcs of PG seps, alpine v12 ampli and 2 12kicker ex subs.

anyway, you can put a pair in the rear. kasi with that much speakers, bitin ang juice mo from your V12.

October 18th, 2004 12:06 PM #174Hi I'm planning a set-up like this (option 1)
1)Would it be fine to just tap the LOC(line output converter) to the rear wire lead? To power my subs?
2)In another forum it doesnt mention the wattage of the stock speakers and the brand. It only mentions the power of the hu. How much amp wattage do I need to supply if I want to power a single 10 or 12 inch sub? *alpine v12 +boxed targa sub*
(option 2)
if tapping is ok.. I can also use a powered sub right?
(option 3)
I will use LOC(high to low level connector) connected to front lead of the HU. 4 ch Amp(2ch powers front + bridge 2ch to power a single 10 or 12inch sub)
*alpine v12 and targa sub*
Question is.. again how much amp power would I need if I want to use the stock front speakers.(Stock includes mid bass and tweeters) without overpowering it?
Let me know what option you like bestHave no plans of changing front speakers and rear speakers in the near future. (but might)
BTW according to Mazda: All headunits put out 25w x 4 maximum. Maybe 10w x 4 rms...And it has an antenna/remote tap. So 1 problem is solved. My main concern is the amp wattage that will be enough for the subs and not over power the stock speakers
p.s.
where can I get decent line converters here?around how much?

i'm assuming you are using your stock HU. as long as equal level of RMS ang sub and amp, you should have no problem powering it. same thing goes for the speakers up front.

pasingit po....
ano po ba yung PMPO at RMS rating sa speakers? ano ang malakas o maganda sa dalawa??
thank you.

THe simplest I can think of:
PMPO - peak music power output.
This is the max that the amp/HU/speaker can give out/take for a limited time.
RMS - root mean square. (There's a mathematical reason why it's called that. But I don't know what it is now.) Usually substituted term for continuous power output, what the amp/HU can give out continuously and safely, and what the speaker can receive continuously and safely.

Littlepinoy, check your amp. It might have speaker level inputs, in which case you wouldn't need a LOC. Plus you may want to disconnect the rear speakers na lang so that sound will come mostly from the front. Sure ka na rin na hindi ma-overwork ang HU mo dahil it will "see" an acceptable resistance on the speaker wire.
HTH.

Hi Guys, finally makakasabay na ako sa inyo. I've just upgraded my stock HU with a bnew pioneer DEH-p3550mp (P7,200). I am planning to have 2 way seps installed soon (baka Blaupunkt). Currently me pair of 4' Tekline coax (150w) ako naka install sa dash. Papaganahin ko pa ba to or disable ko na lang?
