April 13th, 2015 01:04 PM #85I think you know this show is for mindless entertainment right? Most of the cars they build are created for the shock factor. Looks flashy, outrageous or outlandish but it has little to nothing to offer in terms of engineering. Most of the time they get a working platform, chop the body and create a new mold, chop the suspension and use huge spacers to make the car stance look aggressive.
If you are into this kind of builds, i wont be surprise if you rank form as the absolute priority and take little or no interest in functionality. There are plenty in our roads already. See those econoboxes with huge ass spoilers and obnoxious body kits but have bare bone stock engine. Are you driving one?

Thanks.
Sa market kasi ng ordinary car.. Parang laging kapos sa porma. Laging may kulang.. Need mo pa e body kit para maging gwapo..
I want to release a car na hindi mo na need e body kit.. Kasi gwapo na..[/QUOTE]
the idea is not new...check this:

the aesthetics may be different from what you want (gtr/mustang) but i see what you are trying to envision and it can be and has been done. it all boils down to execution na lang siguro.
or maybe you have heard about the aurelio:
Aurelio: First Filipino Made Supercar
people didn't ridicule this when it came out. in fact the effort was applauded. sure, nobody can fault the b16a and 4g63t but they aren't the 4 or 5-liter V12's you might expect in a car that looks like a 'proper' sports car. SAME concept. a car that looks "big" in full sports car guise but without the consequences that you are concerned about (it is a four-pot after all) like fuel consumption, etc of the big boys. who really cares if it can outrun a veyron? you can't drive more than 100kph anyway considering our roads (the better ones legally prohibit you to do so). the gear heads and those who 'know better' might not approve but IMHO, it is not them you are trying to impress anyway. it is still a looker and might get you the second glances from the public in the streets (or girls if that is what you are after).
balance natin though. practically speaking, may point yung iba. cars, like all things, are designed with specific requirements/applications in mind. a micro car's engine just wasn't designed to pull the weight of a car the size of a gtr for example. stuff will break. and making all the adjustments would require not only time but expertise. that's why hundreds of hours are spent by brilliant engineers and designers to come up with a reliably working car. if you think you can step up to that mammoth task, then who are we to stop you?
in the end your money, your rules. if you have a vision then by all means pursue it. if you can make it work, you might just prove everybody else wrong in this thread!

April 13th, 2015 01:35 PM #90Hindi mo inaalog utak namin.
Elaborate. Sabihin natin yung ecoboost 8km/l sa city driving (moderate). Yung transplant engine mo on its original body kunwari 10km/l. For arguments sake 9km/l gawin natin consumption niya.
