The SJ5000+ is not an SJCAM model. It's a generic Chinese action cam that banked on the success of the SJCAM SJ4000 by simply launching a product with a higher number and trying to sell it off as the SJ4000's superior brother, when in reality they're not related.
It's like a Chinese manufacturer releasing a 331i, as a better version of the BMW 330i.
If you're looking for a better alternative to the SJ4000, take a look at the Xiaomi Yi. It has better white balance than the SJ4000, as well as higher-resolution stills (16mp sensor vs 2mp sensor). Local prices are still a bit high though (6k without any accessories or mounts), compared to the SJ4000 WiFi (4.5k).

These action cams don't have IS (not even the GoPro) because their extremely short focal lengths (SJ4000's is only 3mm) naturally avoid shakiness and blur. Such a small focal length also negates the need for autofocus, since that wide of a field of view (170 degrees) means that everything is in focus all the time.
The omission of fancy tech is the reason why action cams come in such small bodies.

I've used the WiFi extensively since my SJ4000 doubles as an action cam and selfie cam. If purely for dashcam use, probably not as useful, since you can just insert the microSD to your phone if you really need to copy a video right away. But since my phone doesn't have a microSD slot, if I need to transfer something I still use the WiFi.
